Breakfast Club 

Fridays 9:00 – 10:00 or 9:30 – 10:00
Kindergarten – age 12
Start the day with breakfast, friends, and free play! Children can enjoy breakfast (typically cereal, with occasional hot breakfasts), board games, self-directed crafts, and a relaxed start to the day before the morning activities begin. $5 – $10 suggested per day.

Each session features a fun, creative theme with hands-on activities and new discoveries with specialist leaders

Sept – Oct        Circus Arts
Join Maya and friends for a playful introduction to the world of circus arts! Participants will have the chance to explore tumbling, tightrope, clowning, juggling and other fun circus crafts while building confidence, coordination and creativity. Classes run Sept. 18, 25, Oct. 9, 23 and 30. Five sessions, $150

Nov – Dec       Gift Crafting
Get creative and learn how to make amazing one-of-a-kind gifts for friends and family, or make special creations to sell at the Yuletide Market! Classes run Nov. 6, 20, 27, Dec. 4, 18. Five sessions,$150

Jan – Feb         Theatre Arts
Step into the spotlight and discover the fun of theatre. Participants will explore characters, storytelling, movement, improvisation and performance through games and creative activities. Classes run Jan 8, 15, 22, 29, Feb 5, 12, 26. Seven sessions, $210

Mar – Apr        Fine Arts
Explore your creativity through drawing, painting and other hands-on art activities. Participants will experiment with different materials, techniques, colours and textures while developing their own ideas and artistic style. Classes run Mar. 12, Apr. 9, 16, 23, 30. Five sessions, $150

May – Jun        Nature Discoveries    
Discover the amazing natural world around us. Explore the forests, fields and shoreline and learn about local plants, animals and ecosystems while developing curiosity, environmental awareness and a deeper connection to the natural world. Classes run May 7, 21, Jun. 11, 18. Four sessions, $120

 

Kids Club – starting September 18

Every week brings a mix of hands-on fun, from creative projects and tasty treats to games and outdoor adventures.  Youth Leadership Program participants welcome to join as volunteers. Registration required. $15 suggested per day.

Hall Heroes REGISTER HERE

Ages 9+ years

Fridays 10:00 – 1:30
Guided by Hall Leaders, each week is a new adventure: help in the café, serve lunch, make decorations, share a skill, mentor a younger person, help lead an activity… Mature and enthusiastic younger heroes, ages 7 – 8, might be able to be matched 1-1 with an older mentor; check to see if we have capacity. Registration required. Free.

 

Youth Nights REGISTER HERE FOR UPDATES

Ages 13 -18
Day and time to be confirmed once school starts
A welcoming space to hang out, try new things, and meet people. Each night will be a little different, but will include things like cooking, art, games, music, crafts, outdoor activities and special guests – nothing needed, just bring yourself and a friend if you like. Food is provided.  Ages 13 – 18 (11+ with a 50-hour Youth Leadership Certificate or similar). Day and time will be confirmed once school starts. Register through our website to receive updates and information about the first night.

 

Youth Culinary Skills APPLY HERE

Ages 13 -18
Day and time to be confirmed once school starts
Get together to make a meal for the community; participants gain hands-on kitchen skills, work as a team in a supportive, fun environment. Bring an apron, a snack be provided. This program is run in partnership with the SGI Neighbourhood House. Registration is required but weekly attendance isn’t necessary. Ages 13 – 18 (10+ if child has a Food Safe Certificate or 50-hour Youth Leadership Certificate).

 

Youth Leadership Program REGISTER HERE

Ages 12 – 18 (10+ if child has a 50-hour Youth Leadership Certificate or similar)
The Youth Leadership Program gives young people opportunities to gain real-world experience while contributing to the community. Each week there are opportunities to help with children’s programs, host the café, assist at special events, support activities, work with younger children, and take on leadership responsibilities. Youth can choose activities that match their interests and gradually take on more responsibility as they gain experience.

Summer Camps – 

Hallside Explorers
10:00 – 4:00, ages 6 – 12
July 20 – 24, 27 – 31, August 4 – 7 and August 17 – 21

Every week is a new adventure!  Explore the outdoors, try creative crafts, join fun games, and go on exciting excursions; all while making great friends and memories.  Cost: $200 (5-day camps), $160 (4-day camp). Pre-camp Care from 9 am – 10 am is available for our own camps and the Ptarmigan, Three on the Tree and Conservancy camps.  July 13 – 17 Pre-camp Care is available even though we aren’t running a children’s camp this week.

July 2 – 3   Leaders in Training Camp 
10:00 – 4:00, ages 13 – 18
Step into leadership!  This hands-on camp is perfect for young people ready to inspire and make a difference.  Through workshops, games, and team challenges, you’ll build confidence, learn how to lead with heart, and gain real tools for working with children.  Join us and become the leader you were born to be!  Cost: $50, local subsidies available

July 10 – 17 Dungeons and Dragons Camp
10:00 – 4:00, ages 12 – 16
We are still checking in and working with our Youth Leaders about what they would like this camp to look like.  If your teen is interested in suggesting something, please let us know and we will let our planning team know! 

Aug 10 – 14 Community Quest
10:00 – 4:00, ages 13 – 16
Ready to step up, give back and have a blast?  At this camp, you’ll learn about what makes for a great community through workshops and hands on experience with local non-profit groups.  Along the way you’ll learn what it means to be a leader, discover how communities work and find out how you can make a difference.  There will also be plenty of games, activities, challenges and time to relax and connect with friends. Cost: $150 (ages 10 – 12), $50 (ages 13 – 16)

August 25 – 28 Fall Fair Leadership Camp
10:00 – 4:00, ages 10 – 18
Love a party, teamwork, and getting creative?  Help bring the Fall Fair to life!  You’ll create decorations, play games, organize and lead special events, make tasty treats for you and your crew, and get behind-the-scenes experience organizing a real community celebration.  Wrap up with a bonus sign-up day for the big event!  Cost: $150 (ages 10 – 12), $50 (ages 13 – 18)

Summer Youth Programs

July 8 – Aug 19 Wednesday Treasure Market –

We encourage youth to sell their wares at the Summer Treasure Market. Youth Vendors, Artists, Artisans and Garage Sale space will be available each week. Table and setup space available by donation.

July 8 – Aug 19 Wednesday Youth Night –
6:00 – 9:00 pm
There will be different activities each week.  We have already had some amazing suggestions for activities from the you, but if you have ideas too we would love to hear from you.  Ages 13 – 18 (11+ if child has a 50 hour Youth Leadership Certificate or similar).

Youth Leadership Program – 
Get ready for a blast of fun-filled learning! Depending on age, Leaders in the YLP can dive into a variety of exciting activities, including assisting with running the Community Cafe,  petting farm assistant, helping run activities, arts & crafts or sports, childminding support, helping with day camps, assisting with events, mentoring younger volunteers, lending a helping hand at the Tech Café, and capturing unforgettable moments as event photographers. All while earning highschool graduation credit, acquing essential work skills, and making a meaningful impact in the community! Ages 10 – 18. Free.

March SGI Youth Share Your Voice

Spring Break Camp

Crafts, games, and adventures await. Pre and post-camp care options are available if needed. Subsidies are available. Cost: $160 for each four day camp, or $50 per day (where space allows).

Christmas Workshop & Reindeer Games Day Camp
A magical day of festive fun! Step into Santa’s Workshop to create handmade gifts using natural and recycled materials. In the afternoon, we’ll head outside for Reindeer Games – active, silly challenges like candy cane relays, snowball toss, and “Pin the Nose on Rudolph.” Cozy snacks, cheerful music, and a warm holiday spirit will make this a day to remember!
